Frequently asked questions

If you're eloping or celebrating a small vow renewal, I would be happy to create a mini collection for you.

Do you shoot elopements or vow renewals?

Where are you located?

Do you have a travel fee?

DO YOU SHOOT DESTINATION Engagement sessions?

Do you shoot destination weddings?

I’m currently based in Virginia and I serve the VA, MD, DC area. I also commute to NJ during wedding season to shoot weddings.

There is no travel fee for weddings or engagement sessions within 60 miles from my VA, MD or NJ office. If your wedding exceeds this, I will work with you to determine the appropriate fee to cover my travel expenses.

Yes! I LOVE to travel for weddings! Please inquire for destination collections!

Yes! I travel a lot and if I will already be in a location you're interested in there's no travel fee!

The amount of images will depend mostly on your wedding day coverage, timeline and the amount of details. I usually deliver around 100 images per hour.

All of the images that I deliver are hand selected and are the best of the BEST. I promise you don’t want every single photo that I or my 2nd shooter takes because included in that are photos where people’s eyes are closed, blinking, sneezing, anything out of focus, duplicates of the same exact photo, testing the lighting, etc. With that said, I will never deprive anyone of a beautiful photo or restrict the amount of images that I deliver based on a certain amount.

How many images do we get?

Do we get all of the photos you take?

What type of weddings do you shoot?

While I’m open to shooting all types of weddings; with my style of work I specialize in the more rustic, chic, vintage, organic type weddings that have outdoor ceremonies, more laid back with a unique feel. I prefer shooting weddings at Farms, Historic Inn's, Estate's, Vineyard's, etc. that isn't your typical venue.

My turn around time is 8-10 weeks for weddings.

No. The reason being is that in order to give you the best wedding photography experience possible, I need to ensure that we’re a good fit for each other and that we connect on a personal level. I understand my style or approach may not fit the needs of every bride and groom, and that’s ok! It’s important that my shooting style compliments your wedding look! If I believe we aren’t a good fit, I would be happy to help find you a photographer that is!

What is your turn around time for our images?

Do you take every wedding that comes your way?

How far in advance can I book?

who is your second shooter?

I typically book weddings 12-15 months in advanced; however occasionally I will book weddings last minute if I still have availability left. To guarantee wedding dates, it’s always best to book sooner rather than later.

Yes! All wedding collections include two photographers so that I can ensure everything is well documented.

do you shoot with anyone else?

All 2nd shooters are hand selected by me and they are all working professional photographers with similar shooting styles.

Wedding albums can be added to any collection a la carte. All albums are custom designed flush mount albums that come in linen. I would be happy to show you samples in person!

I include complimentary engagement sessions because I truly believe they are an important part of the overall wedding experience. During your session you will have a chance to get to know me, how I handle posing and lighting while shooting, and this will allow you to be really comfortable in front of the camera so that you will be pros on the day of the wedding! This session will make a huge impact on the quality your wedding photos and the flow of the wedding day since I can arrive on your wedding day already knowing how you two interact and your best poses, etc.

All 2nd shooters are hand selected by me and they are all working professional photographers with similar shooting styles. I have a handful of photographers that often-2nd shoot for me.

No, because if I had a shot list for every single pose throughout the day, there’s a good chance that I would miss a lot of little moments as they unfold if I was always looking down at a list the whole time. However I do have a shot list for organizational purposes (family formals, Bridal Party & Group Photos). If there’s a few photos you would like captured or one certain pose that I wouldn’t know to get, I would be happy to work with you to arrange a time for those photos.

Who is your 2nd Shooter?

Do you shoot from a "Shot List?

Can you recommend other wedding vendors?

Do you have Insurance & Liability?

Sure! Here is my list of other wedding vendors that are awesome Wedding Vendors

YES I'm fully insured and I would be happy to provide your wedding venue with a copy of my insurance!

Typically great lighting is usually in the early morning or late afternoon. The last 2 hours leading into sunset is my favorite time to shoot because the lighting is really soft and it more flattering on your skin. Morning sessions are also available as well, but they must take place during the first 2 hours right after sunrise.

I collaborate with you to help you find your perfect location! The best locations are places that represent you as a couple and showcase your true personalities. If you’re not sure on a location, I will work with you to help you find the best location.

Do you choose the location of our Engagement Session for us?

Where should I order prints?

What if my location requires a photo permit or fee?

Because your PASS gallery is already linked to the professional lab WHCC, you can order professional prints directly through them for as low as $1-$4. If you would like to order prints on your own, I strongly suggest using a professional photo lab such as Mpix.com or Nationsphotolab.com. **I DO NOT recommend using any discount photo labs (1hr photo) such as Walmart, Target, Cosco, Walgreens, etc.

Clients are held solely responsible for any entrance access fees, photography fees or permits at any of the locations unless otherwise arranged with Christy Nicole Photography. Unfortunately most historical sites, gardens, monuments, estates and local county parks do require some type of photo permit in the state of New Jersey. This is the client’s responsibility to make sure all fees and permits are taken care of prior to their scheduled session.

I would be happy to help you figure that out based on your wedding information. *Please note if your wedding is very large or it involves a lot of traveling to and from your Ceremony and Reception, you may need more than 8 hours of coverage added to your collection. You can find my Sample 8-Hour Wedding Timeline HERE!

What if I don't know how much Wedding Day Coverage I Need?

Do I need to be engaged to have a couple’s session?

Do you help create my Wedding Day Timeline?

Not at all! I love shooting all types of couple’s sessions, whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, special holiday or if you just want fresh updated photos, I would love to capture them!!!!!

YES! Having a solid Wedding Day Timeline will insure your day will run as smooth as possible!!! About 3-4 months out from your wedding day, you will receive my Wedding Questionnaire that includes basic questions regarding your wedding day (Times, Addresses, Contact info, Vender info, Photos and How you would like certain things handled). This will help me create your Timeline & Family Formals list for you!!

Your getting ready photos will highly depend on the lighting in the room!! Its important to choose a location that is filled with LOTS of natural light and windows because it will make a BIG difference in your photographs. Often times hotel rooms can be very dark which can result in having to move to a different location on the day of the wedding or resulting in using a flash which isn't ideal for these type of photos. I highly recommend looking into local Inns or Airbnb.com for other options!!!!!
